Aux Chardonnerets is a quiet farm set in 18 acres of gardens, woodlands and meadows. It is situated 24 kilometres west of the medieval town of Cahors in the Lot department. Aux Chardonnerets is typical of the Quercy Blanc region, famous for its beautiful countryside, sunshine and small traditional French farms. Numerous vineyards producing the famous Cahors AOC wine surround our farm and visiting the many local Chateaux for some excellent wine tasting is a popular pastime.

Our farm belongs to the small hamlet of Mourgues, in the commune of Bagat-en-Quercy. Shops, restaurants, bars and most important services can be found either in Sauzet - 5km, or Montcuq - 7km. Montcuq is also famous for its traditional farmers' market every Sunday morning.

All access roads are private, so our property is traffic free, making your stay quiet and secure. If you have children, you will know that they can play in the 5 acres of gardens quite free from the danger of passing vehicles.

Activities

There are many extra activity opportunities. These include:

• Heated pool (fenced for child access security), 10 metres x 5 metres, open from April until September (water temperature normally 28°C +).
• Free loan of bicycles (road or mountain).
• 9 hole crazy golf course (putters and balls provided)
• Table tennis
• An outdoor traditional brick barbeque next to the pool

The area is excellent for walking and cycling with miles of quiet country lanes (some good hills to climb if it's your thing), tracks for mountain biking and footpaths. Many of the pilgrim trails to Santiago de Compostela are very close to us. With all these activities available you certainly will not get bored, but if you want to just relax by the pool, the peace and quiet offered will allow you to rest and unwind.

For the children

We provide free the following baby and children facilities, reducing the load you need to bring with you:

• 2 x car seats
• A children's bike (age 6 to 10)

There are swings, rope ladders and a baby seesaw for garden amusements.
